The Lewiston mill is the largest of Clearwater Paper\xe2\x80\x99s facilities, producing both paperboard and tissue products, and boasting over 1200 talented employees. Approximately two hours away from Clearwater Paper\xe2\x80\x99s headquarters in Spokane, Washington, the Lewiston paper mill is a key component in Clearwater Paper\xe2\x80\x99s business strategy. What you will do:

Organizational Ledership

  • Responsible for safety performance, managing safety programs that include annual training, scheduled safety meetings, and safe job performance by employees.
  • Develops safety SOP\xe2\x80\x99s (Standard Operating Procedure) and Guidelines.
  • Manages the department to ensure that maintenance budgets are met.
  • Manages and develops employee performance while growing employee competence through training.
  • Determines corrective action for maintenance and reliability problems.
  • Ensures adequate supplies are maintained for continued maintenance projects.
  • Leads crews to improve processes by identifying and eliminating nonvalue added activities (waste).
  • Prepares and distributes information regarding changes to policies and procedures (as a result of kaizens or other CI opportunities) to employees.
  • Manages site maintenance group.
  • Directs maintenance prioritization, planning and execution for the site.
  • Prepares facility maintenance budgets and identifies equipment replacement needs for the capital budget process.
  • Manages the mill\xe2\x80\x99s major repair activities and outages, including coordinating outside contractors, budgets, and milestones.
  • Ensures the accurate accounting of capital assets and administers loss protection and control procedures.
  • Plans scheduled downtimes and shutdowns.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum eight years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in paper mill maintenance, engineering, project management and/or production management required.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills effectively driving organizational change.
  • Successfully demonstrated the use of predictive and preventive maintenance programs, work order systems and world-class maintenance systems is desired.
  • Previous experience using a Computer Maintenance Management system preferred (e.g., JD Edwards).
  • Must possess analytical troubleshooting skills.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to foster Continuous Improvement.
  • High speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high frequency noises, multiple hours standing, walking on concrete surfaces
  • Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.
  • Dirt, noise, odor, & temperature extremes.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process
Total Reward Details:

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate\xe2\x80\x99s job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors. Benefits are generally available after 30 days and include medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and a 401k plan. Paid time off will include vacation days, personal days, and company holidays.
