The Department of Transportation, Highways Division has ONE (1) urgent vacancy located in Halawa to Kalihi.

• This position REQUIRES a Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL) Class A or B, WITH Endorsement N (tank vehicles), and with and have no restrictions relating to codes E (manual transmission), L (air brakes), and Z (full air brakes).

Duties Summary

Independently performs skilled mechanical repair work in the adjustment, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of machinery and equipment such as water pumps, mechanical laundry equipment, and continuing work assignments in accordance with diagrams. Other duties include the inspection, repair and conducting preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment in tunnels and on tunnels approaches, to conduct and report on structural inspections of tunnels, and viaducts, reading operating manuals, while following the manufacturer\'s specifications, basic trade practices, and other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Electrician License: A valid State of Hawaii Maintenance Electrician License or higher is required at the time of application.

NOTE: If your Maintenance Electricians License is NOT submitted at the time of application, your application WILL BE REJECTED.
Experience and Training: THREE (3) YEAR of work experience in performing the mechanical repair and maintenance of a wide variety of mechanical and electrical equipment; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL): At the time of application, applicants must possess a valid Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL), Class A or B with Endorsement N (tank vehicles), and have no restrictions relating to codes E (manual transmission), L (air brakes), and Z (full air brakes).

A valid out-of-state CDL may also be accepted. If you are selected for this position, you must transfer your out-of-state CDL to a Hawaii-issued CDL prior to your employment start date and within 30 days of arriving in Hawaii. Your Hawaii-issued CDL will be verified by the hiring agency before you can start work. Please contact the Honolulu CDL Office at (808) 768-4185 for information on how to obtain a Hawaii CDL.

The Federal Department of Transportation regulations require pre-employment testing for controlled substances. If you are selected for this position, the hiring agency will notify you of when and where to report for testing.
