We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician/Porter for our apartment community in Long Beach, CA.
The Maintenance Technician / Porter daily responsibilities will include completing work orders for electrical, plumbing, Basic HVAC, appliance repairs, exterior maintenance, etc. Also responsible for keeping the appearance of the property in excellent condition, both inside and out. The ideal candidate can handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, while also delivering a high level of customer service.
The Maintenance Technician / Porter In addition, must often respond to after hour emergencies. All maintenance tools will be provided for use at the property.
Responsibilities:
70% of duties dedicated to basic maintenance duties and 30% dedicated to cleaning.
Essential Functions Include:
Respond to service requests on a first in, first out, (except in the case of an emergency) and in accordance with Fair Housing guidelines. Document to accurately describe work done, parts used, disposition and time spent.
Inspect property and equipment daily to determine need and extent of service, equipment required, type and number of operation and maintenance personnel needed.
Clean all common areas; rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, laundry centers, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas.
Requirements:
One year (1) facilities/apartment community/maintenance/construction field/ handyman.
Possess proficiency of the English language, including the ability to understand and communicate effectively with other employees, customers and vendors who only speak English as necessary to perform essential job duties.
On call and weekend service experience (preferred).
Must possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and maintain current auto insurance.
Candidate will be required to pass a background and drug screening (A conviction will not necessarily disqualify you from employment with WSH Management.)
