This Tech I position supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.Job Duties/Responsibilities:Responds to requests by pager, radio, telephone or other methods of communication. Performs emergency repairs using proper trouble-shooting techniques. Conducts periodic inspections/tests based on pre-determined priorities and conditions. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment as specified. Maintains logs of inspections, tests, servicing, and repairs as required. Completes work orders as required. High School Diploma or G.E.D.
2. Valid Texas Drivers License
3. Basic general maintenance skills training and/or minimum two years related experience, including, at least one of the following, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, steam plant, metal work, and welding.Physical and Sensory Requirements:1. Ability to read, write, and converse in English.
2. Ability to understand maintenance problems.
3. Ability to perform lifting (minimum of 50 pounds,) bending, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing and pulling, work with hands above head, work above ground on scaffolds, ladders, etc., standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods.
4. Ability to tolerate high noise levels for prolonged periods.
5. Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures and humidity for prolonged periods.
6. Ability to understand and practice safety requirements in work involving exposure to hazardous chemicals, biological materials, dangerous equipment.
7. Ability to respond to pager, radio, telephone, and other auditory stimulation.
8. Ability to discriminate color.
