HOURS OF WORK: Monday-Friday, Occasionally Weekends, Hours Vary
LOCATION: 12001 Business Blvd Ste. 123, Eagle River, AKExample of DutiesThis position leads, trains, and gives general directions to and directs the work of individual employees, maintenance crews and volunteers in a variety of park maintenance projects. The Working Foreman position performs skilled park maintenance tasks in parks, on trail and at Municipal grounds and other facilities using a variety of landscaping and construction equipment, and power and hand tools that may involve the performance of heavy manual labor for extended periods of time.Minimum Qualifications / Substitutions / PreferencesHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent and six (6) years of experience in park maintenance, landscape, trails, and operation and maintenance of associated equipment which includes two (2) years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.ORAssociate\'s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Design, or similar discipline and four (4) years of experience in park maintenance, landscape, trails, and operation and maintenance of associated equipment which includes two (2) years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.ORBachelor\'s degree in Horticulture, Landscape Design, or similar discipline and two (2) years of experience in park maintenance, landscape, trails, and operation and maintenance of associated equipment which includes one (1) year of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity. Must possess the following:

  • A valid State of Alaska Class B Commercial Driver\'s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement and satisfactory driving record
Preferences:
  • Knowledge in operation of maintenance of tractors, trailers, water tankers, mowers, aerators, sprayers, thatchers, skid loader, tree spade, ATVs, Snow Machines, snow blowers, hand tools used in gardening, landscaping and construction.
  • Knowledge in computers, radios, spreadsheets, database and e-mail computer programs.
Additional Important InformationIf selected for hire, the applicant must be capable of bending, twisting, and kneeling.
