Role Summary:The Manager of Agile Delivery is responsible for executing the strategy and use of the agile delivery framework across AAG product teams for Alaska Airlines. As a people leader, this role leads a team of scrum masters and performs ongoing review of our delivery metrics and the progression of maturing agile practices. This role builds close partnerships and influences decisions made by executive leaders, people managers, and product team members, to deliver products and features which delight our guests. Key Duties:

  • Organizes business and technology leaders through change management of processes and practices used by the product teams.
  • Leads a team of agile practice leaders who are responsible for work management within the product teams to adopt and improve their use of agile practices for product delivery.
  • Evangelizes agile practices and our product focus to teams outside of the department who are interested in understanding and adopting them.
  • Provides constructive coaching around agile principle and the department product focus to a range of stakeholders from executive leaders to individual contributors.
  • Oversees the surfacing of best practices from the product teams to further mature continuous improvement and agile practices.
  • Manages the software system that provides visibility into the roadmap and progress of work across multiple product teams.
  • Collaborates and provides input on the definition of cross-team initiative product teams.
  • Builds a strong partnership with the Enterprise Project Management Office to aid them in working successfully with the department product teams.
  • Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management.
  • Shapes culture of team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills:Required
  • 5 years of hands-on experience using multiple software delivery methodologies.
  • 5 years of hands-on experience using agile methodologies (i.e., Scrum) with full stack product focused teams to plan and deliver software.
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree with a focus in computer science, business, program management, or related field, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
  • 10 years of hands-on experience using multiple software delivery methodologies.
  • 5 years of leadership experience.
  • Management experience leading people involved in software delivery.
  • Strong understanding of a variety of project management and software delivery lifecycles.
  • Balanced technology and business background, sufficiently technical to provide credible leadership to development teams working on complex web and mobile initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen to provide guidance to product managers and stakeholders to develop solutions of high business value.
  • Fluency using Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools, with a strong preference for experience using Azure Dev Ops.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience as a product manager or other role in a product led organization.

Salary Range: $139,700 - $209,500 / year Salary Details:Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees.
