What you\'ll be doing...
Verizon is seeking a highly motivated candidate to manage multiple programs within the Energy and Sustainability team. This individual will be responsible for program strategy, internal and external partner engagement, vendor management, and project execution within the areas of building efficiency, energy regulatory compliance, renewable energy development (both on and off-site), and new technology implementation. This position works across multiple Verizon organizations and lines of business to identify sustainability opportunities while working within organizational constraints. This position will simultaneously manage multiple projects in various sustainability/energy segments and routinely report out to senior executives. This is a high visibility/high impact role that offers growth potential within the Global Real Estate and Global Supply Chain organizations.
This position is for a Manager focused upon Energy & Sustainability. You may have the opportunity to:
Provide critical leadership and guidance to Global Real Estate that aligns with Verizon\'s overall corporate strategy and sustainability goals
Manage multiple projects in the following areas: On-site solar development, off-site renewable energy procurement, energy efficiency, energy regulatory compliance (building energy benchmarking, auditing, and retro-commissioning), electric vehicle charging, waste reduction, water management, and emerging technology implementation
Develop business cases to support various sustainability efforts
Manage vendor relationships for all projects, including interfacing with Verizon\'s Strategic Sourcing team to negotiate contracts, identify opportunities, drive quality, and manage costs
Develop internal processes to integrate sustainable practices into Verizon\'s business
Support Verizon\'s Greenhouse Gas and ESG reporting efforts and contribute to internal and external sustainability goal-setting
Routinely conduct industry benchmarking and research on sustainability market analysis
Manage across multiple organizations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and energy leadership
You must be currently enrolled in the MIT LGO degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.
In this hybrid role, you\'ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid role is open to Verizon Hubs: Basking Ridge, NJ (NYC area); Irving, TX (Dallas area); Alpharetta, GA (Atlanta area); Ashburn, VA (DC area); Boston, MA; Cary, NC (Raleigh-Durham area); Irvine, CA (Los Angeles area); and Lake Mary, FL (Orlando area) If relocation is required, relocation assistance may be available.

You\'ll need to have:
Current enrollment in an MBA or Master\'s degree program with a focus in Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a directly related area with an expected completion date between December 2023 and June 2024.
This position is limited to students enrolled at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management who are currently enrolled in the MIT Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Program.
4+ years of progressive responsibility within Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon Hub.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Experience in energy generation, procurement, or retail sales.
Motivated, results-driven attitude with excellent communications skills.
Proven ability to engage and influence functional leaders and stakeholders.
Knowledge of various corporate sustainability topics in energy/real estate.
Experience in project management, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $89,000.00 and $165,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
