Position Summary | Purpose

A Manufacturing Engineer plays a pivotal role in optimizing manufacturing processes, enhancing product quality, and ensuring operational efficiency within a manufacturing facility. This position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, utilizing engineering principles, and employing advanced technological solutions to drive continuous improvement and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities | Duties

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Embraces The Betts Way framework and leads by example.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Understands, adheres to, and builds upon our TS16949, ISO9001 and ISO14001 Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Frequent interaction and collaboration with other functional areas and business units to ensure company Top Level Metrics (TLM).

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Works closely with other departments, customers and manufacturing personnel to conduct research, time studies, data analysis, cost estimates, prepares drawings, project schedules and timelines. Analyze test data and provide feedback related to functionality, performance and manufacturability.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Develop and implement strategies to enhance production throughput, reduce waste, and minimize production costs.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Help develop work instructions for proper document control.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Assist with any related special projects as required.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Utilizes computer aided engineering and design software as well as other equipment to perform engineering analysis and designs.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Represent Betts in a professional manner when dealing with customers, suppliers and employees.

Experience | Requirements

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Good oral and written communication skills

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Capacity to work independently from general supervision (must be self-motivated once given direction/guidance).

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Strong attention to detail.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 CAD Data Analysis (measurement & manipulation) (SolidWorks preferred).

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Must obtain a bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering from a four-year college and one to two years related experience.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Previous experience in a manufacturing engineering role or related position.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Engineer in Training (EIT) encouraged.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities | Indicators

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Must be proficient with SolidWorks.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, both internal and external.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Proficient in MS Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Ability to read and interpret assembly and component drawings and engineering specifications.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical data.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Familiar with analytical techniques, cause and effect analysis, X bar & R charting, histograms, etc.

\xc3\x82\xc2\xb7 Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory.
