ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides a first class operation with a friendly, courteous and professional attitude to members and guests and crew.
Facilitates, directs, moves, assists and securely moors vessels to dock while providing a safe, clean and orderly dock area.
Provide a clean, organized and secure Marina Office.
Assigns and manages all boat locations in an effort to maximize dockage revenue, under the supervision of the Yachting Committee. Completes a daily occupancy report to ensure proper billing.
Maintains financial stability by increasing sales and reducing expenses.
Maintains inventory control as it pertains to fuel and accessory sales, including completion of purchase/sale logs.
Diagnoses, maintains and repairs capital equipment.
Assists in the expected Marina renovation design and execution.
Dispenses fuel and accessories in accordance with RPYCC\'s Standard Operating Procedures. Submits a month end inventory to Accounting by the 2nd of each month.
Records and enters fuel and accessories sales into the POS System as they occur. Records and enters dockage and electricity into the POS System by the last day of each month.
Monitors the VHF Radio, Channel 16, in accordance with FCC regulations and advises incoming boat traffic.
Observes and notice to navigation relating to draft or depth issues.
Works closely with the FCYC to coordinate transient stays.
Ensures proper staffing compliance with U.S. Coast Guard rules and regulations. Adheres to all federal, state and local laws.
Maintains Royal Palm\'s Clean Marina status.
Assists members, guests, and transients with marina equipment such as power stations, pump-out station, golf cart and hand cart.
Establishes working relationships with boat owners, captains, crew, outside contractors and local marine law enforcement.
Develops and maintains an emergency contact list for all vessels.
Remains on call 24/7 in the event of an emergency.
Maintains a vendor log in report.
Documents and reports any safety hazard, hazardous conditions or unsafe practices or procedures.
Orders parts and supplies as requested or necessary.
Provides input for budgetary planning and adherence to same, obtains approval for capital equipment purchases and accounts for deviations.
Maintains a communication process with the Yachting Committee to reduce misunderstanding and misinterpretation of daily activities, including phone calls, memos, meetings and status reports.
Attends Yachting Committee meetings and acts as secretary.
Carries out functions set forth by the Yachting Committee such as marine related research and social event coordination. Works with Social Director and Food and Beverage Department to execute.
Assists in Human Resource planning and development within the Marina. Hires, disciplines, counsels, motivates and develops personal growth, communicates policies and procedures, training programs and maintains a staff that reflects the Mission of Royal Palm.
Does not accept or request gratuities as Royal Palm is a non-tipping Club.
Does not take fuel for personal use.
Performs any extraordinary tasks for members privately only with prior approval from the Yachting Committee and General Manager and not during working hours.
Does not fraternize with members or yacht crews on or off boats or consume alcoholic beverages on premises.
Any and all other tasks assigned by the General Manager.
Education / Experience
Must have a minimum of 3 years marine experience.
Maintain minimum 50 ton license.
Must have working knowledge of boat related systems, docking procedures and advance dock line theory as it relates to the proper mooring of any vessel.
Must have knowledge of all dock related equipment such as electrical systems, plumbing, fuel systems and safety equipment.
Minimum of 3 years related Marina experience, preferable in a private club, hotel or resort setting.
Qualifications
Knowledge of Jonas POS system preferred
Excellent customer service skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be able to read, write and comprehend work orders, invoices, schedules, dredging contracts, etc.
Certifications
OSHA First Responder Awareness Certification, CPR/AED Certification
