Starting Salary: $40,000-$43,000, based on experience.

Position Overview
Book Harvest is growing! The Marketing and Outreach Coordinator is a new position on our team. Key responsibilities include assisting with the creation and dispersion of marketing content such as blog posts, social media copy, and program materials; organizing Book Harvest\'s attendance at community events that align with Book Harvest\'s mission and expansion initiatives; attending and participating in events outside of Durham County; maintaining a record of publicity pertaining to Book Harvest; and being an active member of the Book Harvest External Relations Department.
This position is an ideal fit for an individual with marketing and writing skills who loves to build relationships, create content, and engage with community members.
The position requires a close and collaborative working relationship with other organizations and families. For forging new relationships with educational institutions, the Marketing and Outreach Coordinator is capable of developing trust with a wide variety of stakeholders. They are a friendly and detail-oriented self-starter with an enthusiasm for learning and for taking on increasing responsibilities over time. They bring to the position a strong grounding in and understanding of cultural competence and educational equity and access, and share the belief that every child can succeed. They consistently represent the culture and core values of Book Harvest to our volunteers, our partners, and our community.
This position is based out of Book Harvest\'s office at 2501 University Drive in Durham, NC, is a member of the External Relations department, and reports to the Events and Development Manager. Some work will be conducted off-site and out in the Durham community, with mileage reimbursements and/or a rental vehicle provided by the organization as policy indicates. The Marketing and Outreach Coordinator may supervise part-time/temporary staff, interns and volunteers as they grow into their role.
