Job Description


Position Description: The Marketing Manager is part storyteller and part project manager, responsible for content creation and project management for all brand, marketing, and external communications at UMOM. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements the organization\'s integrated strategic marketing & communications plan to advance brand identity and increase visibility across key stakeholder audiences.
  • Provides written content for UMOM, including but not limited to: branded emails, social media posts and ad campaigns, offline marketing material, web-based stories and blogs
  • Coordinates and oversees graphic design work performed by vendor(s)
  • Sets up and deploy email communications, social media posts, and website updates
  • Helps review, edit, and facilitate design of content and materials across all departments for relevancy, consistency, and brand compliance
  • Monitors and reports on key metrics related to website, email, social media and other marketing initiatives.
  • Work closely with Philanthropy team to plan and execute key initiatives, including annual fund and new donor acquisition campaigns
  • Develop and execute social media posting, engagement and advertising strategy in accordance with organizational budget and goals
  • Helps identify opportunities for new content and PR based projects that drive organizational objectives
  • Executes, and monitors project timelines, budgets, and required reporting for the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Ensures all relevant activities are recorded in Virtuous donor database, in accordance with the organization\'s policies and procedures.
  • Supervises vendor output including direction of work, onboarding, appraisal of productivity and efficiency, delivery of feedback and coaching.
  • Works effectively across all departments, and with staff and high-level volunteers.

Qualifications:
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor\'s degree in related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, communications and/or progressive non-profit management duties required
  • Portfolio of copywriting, including emails, blogs, and social media posts or ads
  • Experience managing vendor or employee output preferred
  • Ability to make simple graphic designs using Canva and brand templates preferred
Compliance
  • Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or the ability to obtain one
  • Valid AZ Driver License and a driving record that falls within UMOM\'s policy
  • 50/100 level of car insurance coverage (mileage reimbursement available)
Computer Skills
  • Proficiency with applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Experience with Squarespace, or similar website management tools
  • Proficiency with Virtuous and Classy fundraising tools preferred
  • Experience with Canva preferred

  • This position is typically performed in an interior, environmentally controlled office setting. The duties of the job require extended periods of time being stationary and manipulating a computer (keyboard, monitor, mouse), and other standard office equipment including, but not limited to printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.

Work Schedule: Generally, Monday - Friday with occasional nights and weekend flex scheduling for special events. This position is in-person full-time during the first 90 days of onboarding and may flex to 60-80% in-person (expect 3 days per week in-person) after on-boarding, depending on organizational needs.
