The Material Handler is responsible for the handling, drying, blending, weighing, and loading of different types of plastic resins according to work orders. The Material Handler is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the warehouse as well as control of material locations and record keeping for raw materials inventory in the company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Material Handler Minimum Qualifications:
Self-Starter
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Detail oriented
Must have good mobility and dexterity
Able to routinely lift 55 lbs.
Ability to operate a forklift is required
Must be able stand, sit, stoop, squat, climb and walk for up to 8 hours a day
Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and Word
Material Handler
Monitors usage of material for jobs currently in-process and ensures that adequate material is available at the presses to achieve production quantities specified on work orders.
Reviews production schedule and communicates with Production Manager and Processor to prepare and dry material for pending work orders.
Analyzes work orders to determine whether pre-mixed or reground material can be substituted for specified materials. (Must consult with Production Manager before making substitutions)
Issues raw materials (resin and components) to jobs based upon work orders and records quantities issued in the company's ERP system.
Maintains documentation of material lot numbers for quality control and records this information on the work orders and placards located at dryers and presses.
Communicates material lot number changes to Quality Control and Production Manager.
Receives raw material at dock, selects warehouse location and stores material in warehouse, recording quantities of material received and warehouse locations assigned in the company's ERP system.
Returns excess material not consumed in production to warehouse, tracking and recording quantities and material lot numbers.
Periodically performs cycle counts to verify accuracy of warehouse inventory.
Assists with maintaining a safe and clean production floor by removing trash and keeping work areas clean and orderly.
Load part numbers, Lot numbers, Rev, etc. into the label system.
Checks dryers, cleans filters and makes sure material is loaded properly.
Checks out Pins, Inserts and other materials associated with WO's at the start of production to the Component Cabinet.
Will be in communication with Recycle pickup personnel including loading MP15 recycle gaylords, cardboard and pallets.
Keeping stock of boxes on Production Floor as well as in Warehouse Inventory.
Other duties as assigned.
