Job Description

The

Material Planner

is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the availability of parts and materials required for radar production. This includes inventory management, vendor relations, and maintaining accurate production records. The position will utilize an MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) system to manage work orders, track inventory usage, and forecast inventory needs required on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory & Materials Management:

+ Ensure parts and materials are available for ongoing radar production.
+ Track parts assigned to specific jobs and transfer inventory to corresponding work orders.
+ Monitor and maintain inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
+ Pull parts from inventory and supply to production floor.
+ Utilize and update the department MRP (Manufacturing Resource Planning) system.
+ Update the Bill of Materials (BOM) database as required

Vendor Coordination:

+ Coordinate with vendors to obtain quotes and place orders for necessary parts and materials.
+ Track the status of ordered parts, proactively addressing any delays or issues to minimize production disruptions.

ogistics & Shipping Support:

+ Assist with moving parts to and from the warehouse as needed to maintain production flow.
+ Support shipping and receiving operations when required, ensuring smooth parts handling and organization.

Qualifications:

Candidate should possess some of the following qualifications:

Previous experience with inventory management Previous experience working in a manufacturing/production environment Previous experience utilizing a MRP software system for inventory and production Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles Working with multiple vendors to manage quotations and Purchase Orders

Education & Experience:

Associate degree or equivalent work experience in production, inventory management, or a related field. * Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus.
