We are currently accepting applications for a Materials Transport Dispatch Assistant wanting to advance their construction career. The ideal candidate will be able to assist the primary materials transport dispatcher in support of transporting aggregate materials throughout Arkansas.


THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION.


Key Responsibilities:




Receives daily trucking requests from crew superintendent and foremen. Identify available trucking assets from a pool of owned Redstone dump trucks and independent owner operator dump trucks. Develop a schedule utilizing a software program and posting it to each crew. Notify all drivers of their daily assignments via text messaging. Issue daily time sheets and provide jobsite information and directions to drivers. Answer incoming calls and provide information for drivers and customers. Maintain a pool of available independent lease dump trucks with drivers to supplement the Redstone dump truck fleet. Ensure the drivers are assigned a full day of deliveries. Schedules often change due to weather, equipment breakdowns, project delays, etc. requiring dispatch to reroute trucking assets. Communicate with the mechanic shop to identify available dump trucks.

Supervisory Responsibility




This position will develop knowledge to fulfill the primary materials transport dispatcher duties during his absence.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:





While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing throughout day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work




Normal work schedule will be Monday through Friday, with some weekend and after-hours cell phone calls. The workday hours will vary with scheduling requirements. The position may require extended work hours at times.

Travel




Redstone Construction only operates within the state of Arkansas. Hotel rooms are furnished by Redstone Construction. Employees receive $50 perdiem pay for each night's stay in an out-of-town hotel. Dispatchers work from the Little Rock office and remotely, rarely requiring travel.

Required Education and Experience




High school education is required. A minimum of two years administrative computer-based experience is required. Microsoft Office experience preferred. Within the last five years any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
