Position Overview: The Meal Delivery Driver is responsible for accurately delivering meals and other items to Meals On Wheels recipients throughout Tarrant County.

Paid As: Hourly, Non-Exempt Part-Time Employee

Hours of Operation: 10:00 AM \xe2\x80\x93 1:30 PM Monday \xe2\x80\x93 Friday

Report To: Vice President Volunteer Services

AGENCY EXPECTATION OF EMPLOYEE

• Maintain confidentiality of client, donor, volunteer, staff and board information
• Support the mission, vision and goals of Meals On Wheels, Inc. of Tarrant County
• Represent Meals On Wheels in a professional manner at all times
• Must have dependable transportation, valid driver license and personal vehicle insurance as required by the State of Texas
• Required to pass criminal background check and have a free and clear MVR
• Assist with meal delivery when volunteer callouts make it necessary for staff to deliver
• Contribute to other projects when necessary

ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS

• Maintain safe driving habits at all times and cleanliness of your vehicle
• Organize workload for maximum efficiency
• Maintain proper food temperature for all items
• Able to lift, load, unload, climb and carry 40 pounds
• Must be able to walk and carry boxes and bags of food and supplies
• Report to work punctually
• Call clients if you will miss or will be late for routine deliveries
• Complete and turn in required reports
• Notify Vice President Volunteer Services immediately if there are issues or an accident involving your vehicle
• Other duties as assigned by VP Volunteer Services

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 21 years of age

REQUIREMENTS

• Communicate effectively with clients and staff
• Reliable transportation with valid vehicle insurance coverage
• Maintain and provide a valid driver license with good driving record
• Pass agency background check and personal insurance verification
• Must have an active, working cell phone
• Able to lift and carry objects of 25 pounds
• Physically able to reach, stretch, bend and sit for several hours at a time

EXPERIENCE

• Relevant experience or knowledge and skills preferred
