job summary:
A Mechanical Engineer is needed for a world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial gas turbines and diesel-electric locomotives in the Decatur, IL area. The Mechanical Engineer conducts research, designs mechanical systems, troubleshoots issues, and collaborates with teams while utilizing CAD and analytical skills to enhance product development and engineering solutions.

salary: $27.04 - 37.86 per hour
work hours: 8am to 5pm
education: Bachelors
responsibilities:
- Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical tools, engines, machines, and devices.
- Analyze customer design proposals and specifications for project feasibility.
- Investigate equipment failures, troubleshoot faulty operations, and offer recommendations.
- Develop conceptual designs, review for development, testing, and evaluation.
- Create design concepts for complex engineering systems, including structures and components.
- Follow APQP process, collaborate with suppliers to meet design requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude, ability to develop product concepts.
- Interpretation of blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor\'s degree in engineering required.
- 2-4 years\' experience in engineering.
- Experience level: Experienced
