• Estimated annual base pay: $91,800 (minimum) - $114,700 (midpoint) - $137,600 (maximum)

Are you ready to make your mark? If you\'re a Mechanical Engineer interested in product design, we have an exciting opportunity for you. This engineer will join Woodward\'s product development / New Product Introduction team. They will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, prototyping, and validating Woodward\'s next generation of products. In addition, this level may participate in project-specific relationship building with Customers, Suppliers, individuals, or organizations.What You Will Be Doing

• Performs basic analysis of product performance and failure predictions
• Directs analyst activity on complex analysis
• Able to flow down requirements from customer level through component design, assembly, and manufacturing
• Leads design activities for reliability, failure prevention, risk management (such as DFMEA)
• Works with assembly and test engineers to design for product reliability and manufacturability (poka-yoke, DFM, error proofing)
• Works with suppliers to optimize designs for cost, performance, quality, manufacturability
• Works with remote teams across the globe working in multiple time zones. Can direct work of team members that are remote.
• Performs root cause analysis activities (fishbone, five whys, etc)
• In depth knowledge of materials science (metals, elastomers), surfaces, coatings, etc
• In depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical design components (bolted joints, springs, actuators, fluid flow, solenoids)

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required
• Greater than 4 years in related field or entry level Master of Science degree required
• Competent skills in problem solving and troubleshooting.
• May direct or lead work of technicians, detailers and designers
• Basic ability to understand and interpret industry and technical standards
• Basic use and understanding of FEA, CFD, and other simulation tools
• Fundamental comprehension of GD&T, fits & clearances, and tolerance analysis / stack-ups
• Assists with the development of department and organization procedures
