What you will be doing: Under general supervision, the Medicaid Program Specialist 2 position will provide professional support to the Office of Rate Review (ORR) for administering and maintaining the Certification of Need (CON) and Supplemental Emergency Medical Transportation (SEMT) programs, rate setting, reporting, and implementing federal rule changes. Support will include but is not limited to conducting research to assist in the development of and application of State regulations or State Medicaid policy; developing and/or recommending policies, procedures, and administrative processes; coordinating, planning, implementing, and assessing the programs and processes; and clarifying compliance with State and federal policy, procedure, and reporting requirements.

This position is in the Frontier Building (secured office with free covered parking) in mid-town Anchorage. You will work in a small interactive team dedicated to supporting our agency\xe2\x80\x99s mission and values. The workweek is typically Monday-Friday.

Progressively responsible experience such as supporting the administration of a Medicaid or Medicare program, health insurance service, health insurance management information system, health insurance finance or accounting program, Supplemental Security Income benefits or vocational rehabilitation program; auditing or monitoring medical or public assistance programs for fraud or quality assurance; processing medical claims using medical coding and medical billing knowledge; designing, developing, testing for quality assurance, and implementing an information system and/or training or education which includes such course work as business administration, computer sciences, economics, healthcare, legal studies, medical billing or coding, public health, public assistance, psychology.
