Medical Lab Scientist - Specialty Testing

Our Specials lab section offers a variety of unique instruments and methods not found in other labs. Both FDA cleared assays as well as Laboratory Developed Tests (LDT) in Coagulation, Special Chemistry and Toxicology.

Routine Coagulation testing is performed along with Special Coagulation studies include factor assays, inhibitors, platelet functions, platelet aggregation...Special Chemistry testing includes chemiluminescent assays, protein electrophoresis and hemoglobin electrophoresis.... Toxicology/Therapeutic drug testing includes immunoassays, Gas Chromatography (GC), Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectroscopy (LCMS) and continues towards expanding our test menu with new validations in development.

Work Schedule:

• Full Time, 80 hours / pay period
• Days, rotating weekend and holidays

Responsibilities:

• Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens. Interprets, documents and reports test results.
• Performs quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Complies with good laboratory practice and regulatory requirements.
• Performs projects as assigned as well as serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff as needed.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

• Minimum Required Education: Bachelor\'s degree and graduate of an accredited Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist program.

Required Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or categorical ASCP certification in a laboratory specialty/sub-specialty as applicable to job responsibilities. State licensure if required by law. Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Minimum Experience: None Required.

The pay range for this position is: $31.61 - $47.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant\'s relevant experience.
