A laboratory professional responsible for performance of all levels of general testing within the analytical laboratory. The Medical Lab Tech provides a high level of technical knowledge and application of that knowledge to department testing and clinical relevance. In this role you will consistently functions in a self-directed manner and exhibits complex problem solving skills.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

To be qualified for a Medical Lab Tech:

• 1 year of related work experience preferred
• Associates Degree or completion of a U.S. Military 50-week course leading to specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist or equivalent role and ASCP MLT certification or equivalent, OR Bachelors Degree in a Science field with applicable clinical experience.
• MLT with ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification required within 6 months of hire

To be qualified for a Medical Tech:

• 1 year related work experience preferred
• MLS with ASCP certification, or MT/MLT with ASCP, AMT, or equivalent certification, or specialty ASCP certification in the assigned department required within 6 months of hire
• Associate\'s Degree Required
• Bachelor\'s Degree Preferred

Schedule: Day shift is 6am-2:30pm. Weekend and holiday rotations.

Physical Requirements-Light work - (Exert up to 20lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 10lbs frequently)

Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 522-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprised of Penrose Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center. Penrose Hospital serves as the anchor hospital of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services with 364-licensed beds and the ability to provide tertiary (high tech) medical-surgical services with an emphasis on elective and outpatient care. Established in 1890, Penrose Hospital has grown to become a major health treatment and referral center, specializing in cancer care, cardiac care, emergency trauma care and physical rehabilitation. St. Francis Medical Center opened in 2008 to keep pace with the growing needs of the Colorado Springs\xe2\x80\x99 community on the north side of the city. St. Francis Medical Center features 172-beds and offers a modern Birth Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Care Unit, Emergency Department, Level III Trauma Center, Imaging Services, Surgical Services and Critical Care Unit. It also serves as southern Colorado\xe2\x80\x99s home base for the Flight For Life\xc2\xae Colorado air medical helicopter service. Pay Range

$21.44 - $46.40 / hour
