Job Description

:The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs, evaluates and reports results on specimens received for analysis. Operates instruments and performs maintenance function checks and troubleshooting. Performs a variety of diagnostic testing and follows established guidelines for the prioritization of work. Meets target performance metrics for safety and quality. Analyzes and evaluates quality control checks to assure accurate patient results. Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, employees, and as appropriate, other information. Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principles of safety and infection control into daily activities as outlined in Safety manual and department safety policies/procedures. Consistently uses personal protective equipment as required and takes appropriate precautions whenever there is a potential for contact with blood, body fluids, chemicals and/or other hazardous materials. Maintains knowledge of work-appropriate aspects of environment of care programs, complies with policies and reports unsafe conditions.Applicants must have:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Medical Technology or related scientific biological field.
• ASCP Board of Certification as Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist.
