The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing a wide variety of technical and clerical duties associated with Clinical Chemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, Microbiology, Serology, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank. The Medical Technologist obtains and receives specimens, performs testing using standardized procedures, understands methods, principles, and theories, performs quality control, performs preventative maintenance, and interprets results as to accuracy and acceptability. The Medical Technologist works independently and organizes work to meet deadlines and record all data obtained.
This position reports to the Director, Laboratory Services, under the direction of the section supervisor, and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree and Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s level ASCP certification (e.g. MT, BB, etc.) or equivalent registration or application for registration required; relevant education transcripts required
  • If the employee does not meet registration requirements within 1 year of employment, their employment will be terminated
  • \xe2\x80\xa2Six (6) months to one (1) year experience as an MT preferred
