THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, is seeking a full-time Medium Voltage Electrician Foreman to join our team. If you have the skill it takes to supervise in the installation, alteration, maintenance, construction, and repair of all electrical, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, switchgears, transformers, power distribution panels, heating control systems, elevators, boiler room equipment, appliances, fixtures, etc., this is the job for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is specialized work involving the supervision of Medium Voltage Electricians, Electricians 1s, and 2s, Maintenance Repairman 2s, and other assigned staff.

As a Medium Voltage Electrician Foreman, you will perform the full scope of supervisory duties, including planning, assigning, and supervising work of Electrician 1s, 2s and Medium Voltage Electricians, Maintenance Repairman 2s or other staff engaged in all phases of electrical maintenance, construction and alteration, and maintenance work of buildings, furniture, and other fixtures. This position requires participation in the work of assigned personnel and you will be responsible for all supervisory administrative functions such as recording employees\' time and attendance, approving leave, posting work schedules, imposing informal discipline, recommending formal discipline, and making recommendations in the selection and termination processes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and Travel: As needed.
  • May change based on operational needs.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six years of journey-level experience in the electrical trade, including one year of experience in medium voltage electrical work; or
  • One year of experience as a Medium Voltage Electrician; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of experience in medium voltage electrical work.
Conditions of Employment:
