job summary:
Financially established manufacturer seeks a Melt Shop Manager to lead all melt shop, casting, and vacuum degassing activities in an exciting mill environment! You should have leadership experience from a steelmaking melt shop, preferably with flat rolled steel or SBQ experience. strong communication skills and a commitment to team dynamic are a must for this role. responsibilities:

• Oversee production in the melt shop. This includes ensuring that the melt shop is operating efficiently and effectively, that the quality of the product meets customer specifications, and that safety standards are met.

• Responsibility for the caster, vacuum degasser, and aspects of quality.

• Develop Metallurgists and mentor them on career and skillset growth

• Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and practices.

requirements:

• BS or MS Metallurgical Engineering or similar

• Steelmaking / melt shop / casting experience

• Flat rolled steel or SBQ experience preferred

• Vacuum degasser and quality experience a plus

• strong leadership and communication skills required, as well as a commitment to team dynamic
