CAD Engineer - Mechanical

(Posting).


Responsible for design and development of engine mounted cooling components.
Responsibilities include creating technical specifications, conducting DFMEA S/ DVP&R, co-ordinate simulation activities and releasing the part.
Scope includes NPI, cost reduction, and current production.
Communicate with other engineering team members, GSND, suppliers, and customers.
Adhere to established standards, policies, and practices relating to quality, cost reduction, safety, and ergonomics.
Some travel (less than 10%) to suppliers and Caterpillar manufacturing facilities is required.

Required Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace or Agricultural Engineering
1-3 experience working in Component design and validation
Working knowledge of Teamcenter and APQP
Previous supplier CPPD experience
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Basic CREO experience

Desired Qualifications

Proficiency with CAT internal systems and tools
Strong academic background in fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and mechanics of materials
Mechanical fatigue knowledge
FEA (Finite Element Analysis) knowledge
Good analytical and problem solving skills
(1.) To track, prioritize and plan the assigned tasks and escalate for revisiting the timelines in case of complex work requests. (2.) To create new designs and models or redo the existing model for meeting client s prescribed standards. (3.) To create new drawings as per requirements within the stipulated standard levels. (4.) To interact with the client engineering teamoronsite coordinatororoffshore lead for understanding the request and finalizing the scope of work (5.) To manually review and validate the generated outputs; maintain relevant documentation in client database.
