job summary:
Financially established manufacturer seeks a Lab and Inspection Manager to lead all lab and surface inspection activities in an exciting mill environment! You should have EITHER lab OR surface inspection experience from a steelmaking environment (flat rolled steel or SBQ preferred), and the desire to learn the one that you lack. strong leadership skills and a commitment to team dynamic are a must for this role. salary: $150,000 - 190,000 per year
work hours: 8am to 4pm

responsibilities:

• Oversee the mill centralized lab

• Oversee surface inspection from the caster to the inspection line

• Callibrate the multiple surface inspection brands and product types

• Work with R&D on testing

• As a leadership heavy role, this will involve a lot of mentorship as well as serving as the SME in related matters

requirements:

• BS or MS Metallurgical Engineering or similar (Chemical and Mechanical Engineering will be considered with significant metallurgical experience)

• Required: EITHER lab experience from a steelmaker OR surface inspection experience from a steelmaker

• Flat rolled steel or SBQ experience preferred

• strong leadership and communication skills required, as well as a commitment to team dynamic
