Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Product Metallurgist is to provide technical support to operations and sales, review customer inquiries and determine mill capability, lead and/or assist with customer and internal corrective actions, quality and cost improvements, assist in development of new products, set up of production orders to ensure material is produced to satisfy customer requirements, perform other duties as assigned.

Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor\'s new sheet mill with advanced steel making capabilities and lower carbon emissions. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational after two years of construction. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills and is located in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or Equivalent
• Minimum of 5 Years of flat rolled experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coated products and/or cold rolled products experience
