Accountable for twenty-four hour, day to day operations of the patient care unit(s). Including effective management of clinical systems, human resources, financial management and environmental management. Promotes collaborative practice with other departments, physicians, and schools of nursing, and exhibits the ability to work with others to find solutions to difficult human, technical or administrative problems. Must be able to adjust to and lead others through a rapidly changing environment.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing with current Alabama RN license. BSN preferred, (exception: NM hired prior to 9/93). RN with BS in health or business management acceptable. CNOR preferred. BCLS required (must be completed within Provisionary Period) OR experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Extensive hospital RN experience in which leadership has been exhibited required. Management experience desirable.
Additional Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must be able to use computer terminal, fax machine.
