Recruitment Type OpenPosition DetailsGeneral StatementThe Morrill Scholar Success Program Manager is responsible for developing, managing and implementing key aspects of the Morrill Scholars program related to Morrill Scholar case management for 2-years of the program. The Program Manager will engage with a cross-disciplinary and functional team to conceive, design, and develop innovative strategies and solutions. The successful candidate will combine an ability to xe2x80x9cthink bigxe2x80x9d with the ability to xe2x80x9cmove quick.xe2x80x9dThe Morrill Scholar Program Manager will work to convey compassion and support along-side high expectations. This work will be accomplished through one-on-one coaching appointments, small groups, peer mentoring and large group meetings. We are looking for a passionate, data-driven decision maker who likes experimenting, setting high standards, and staying ahead of dynamic and complex problems to find solutions. An ideal candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities. The ideal candidate will relish supporting students with great potential informed by a servant-leader mindset - supporting access and excellence at MSU.The Morrill Scholar Program Manager is a member of a team that is focused on driving outcomes to improve persistence, graduation rates and career outcomes for MSU Morrill Scholars.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and support appropriate case management models for each year of the two-year Morrill Scholars Program.
  • Supervise, hire, train and coordinate 10 peer mentors for the Morrill Scholars Mentors.
  • Supervise and train one staff member associated with the program.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty fellow and support their engagement needs with students in their course.
  • Provide or coordinate student interventions quickly and responsively to retain students in the program.
  • Work closely with academic advisors associated with the program.
  • Identify, drive, and develop best practices, efficiencies, and project workflows in support of scholar success outcomes.
  • Communicate with teammates, campus colleagues, and management on scholar needs/issues, project status, strategy, risks, and issues.
  • Work with the Learning Management team to ensure scholars engage in FLOW Zones, tutoring, critical thinking, study cycle, and tiny habit training.
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, make tradeoffs, and balance program needs with technical constraints.
  • Ensure scholars attend class, engage in their coursework and maintain satisfactory academic outcomes.
Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills * Bachelor's Degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in program development, management, implementation and delivery assessment.
  • Demonstrated competence using personal computers and various software such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, email and internet.
  • Demonstrated experience of strong data analysis, problem-solving, and project management skills where data and metrics were utilized to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating (oral and written) to constituents with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience of working in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and improvement is desired.
  • Demonstrated experience bringing together stakeholders with different interests to move projects and initiatives forward.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills1. Master's degree.
2. Demonstrated experience with project management/case management/social work.
3. Demonstrated experience in coordinating multiple initiatives while working with various constituents bringing project to a successful completion.
4. Demonstrated experience with developing written content for specific audiences (donors, foundations, students, campus partners, etc.).
5. Demonstrated experience writing grants or reports intended to influence funding resources.
6. Demonstrated experience planning events or programs with multiple constrains and considerations that must be thought-through or planned.
7. Experience with spreadsheets & word processing.

Position Special Requirements/Additional InformationThis position will require scheduled evening and potential weekend hours to host events and interact with students.Funding is available for this position through June 30, 2025.
