What The Role Is
The Escrow Specialist is responsible for the maintenance of tax and insurance records on
mortgaged properties and accurate and timely payment of real estate taxes and insurance on
escrow and non-escrow accounts. Escrow Specialist monitors the work of out-sourced tax and
insurance vendors, processes all disbursements for customer escrow accounts and provides
assistance in resolving tax and insurance related issues. Escrow Specialist processes mail, faxes,
and emails pertaining to current bills and researches issues for customers.

How You will Make an Impact
Analyzes escrow sufficiency to make sure escrowed funds are sufficient to make required payments
Update tax and insurance lines on the mortgage servicing system in order to maintain accurate records for delinquent non-escrowed loans obtain delinquent tax amounts in a timely manner so taxes can be paid to prevent a tax sale.
Works with Loss Mitigation Specialists to ensure modification plan guidelines for setting up tax lines, paying taxes, and establishing an escrow account are done timely and within Compliance guidelines.
Manually requests tax and insurance bills, track critical dates, and make payments if not disbursed electronically.
Execute payments for taxes and insurance both in batch single processing modes accounting to the renewal and installment due dates for the particular payee. Payment processing includes: taxes to avoid incurring interest or penalties, homeowners insurance which includes hazard, flood and wind, and private mortgage insurance
Sets up new tax payers or makes changes upon request.
Update action & follow up in the mortgage servicing system.
Weekly reporting to management.

Who You Are
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft office and their associated suite of product
Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask while meeting strict deadlines
Outstanding time management
Sound decision making skills
Previous experience with accounting and reconciliation a plus
