Network Solutions Engineer (Systems/MCP)

As a Network Solutions Engineer (Systems/MCP) you will

• Be responsible for the planning, implementation, and execution of the installation of our client\'s Manage, Control and Plan (MCP) platform.
• Work in partnership with Sales Engineering, Account teams, and the customer to ensure the lifecycle of the customer\'s MCP engagement is completed from conception to final solution.
• Develop test plans for customer network architecture and interoperability, ensuring the functionality and security of equipment and determining efficient equipment configurations suitable for customers and stakeholder requirements.
• Prepare implementation plans based on the results of testing and provide expert engineering support in the deployment of the proposed improvements and modifications.
• Assist the customer with troubleshooting, installation, and implementation with dedicated servers and MCP itself, remotely or in a restricted, secure environment.
• Be the on-site face of our client, serving as SME for all customer project activities related to hardware and services.

Your background will include:

• Active TS/SCI/Full Scope Poly (Must have).
• Subject Matter Expertise in Linux
• Demonstrated understanding of Linux security(STIGs/CIS)
• Shell Scripting and PERL experience
• Knowledge of automation/DevOps tools
• BS degree in Telecommunications, Networking, or similar technical field of study
• Security+ or any equivalent DoD 8570 (IAT Level II or higher)
• Able to travel up to 30%.
• On-site work is required - Experience working in highly classified environments with sensitive customers and assets.

Other beneficial experience and knowledge:

• Current or prior experience/knowledge of the Ciena Product family.
• Project+ or Scrum Master Certification.
• Experience with Python, JSON, Ansible, or Chef and Puppet.
• Knowledge and experience with Layer-0, Layer-1, Layer-2
