At Cooper Spur Mountain Resort and Ski Area, we are passionate about providing an enriching experience for our guests, celebrating the natural wonder of the Mt. Hood Wilderness area and the recreational opportunities it provides. Instructors at Cooper Spur Ski Area share their passion and knowledge of skiing and/or snowboarding with our guests. The Mt. Hood Meadows/Cooper Spur Learning Center takes pride in being known as the \xe2\x80\x9cBest in the West\xe2\x80\x9d when it comes to delivering the ultimate on-snow experience.
You will have the opportunity to teach groups and individuals of all ages and abilities. This position will also be cross trained in other areas including rentals and boot fitting, point of sale operations, and opening and closing procedures. If you have a passion for teaching others what the mountain experience is all about, then this might be the opportunity you have been waiting for.
Our in-house instructor-training program will provide you with the tools to start your journey as an instructor. Upon successful completion of training, additional team-teaching opportunities will help you prepare you for your own classes. Training happens in November and December, so that you\xe2\x80\x99re ready to teach by opening day.
Qualifications and Experience

• 16 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to complete instructor training in mid-November and early December
• Strong guest services & communication skills
• Ability to ski and/or snowboard in all winter weather conditions for extended periods of time
• Ability to commit to working shifts on weekends, holidays, including school holiday periods
• Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business
• Employment in this position is subject to a satisfactory background check for 18 years of age or older
