Job Title: Non-Emergency Medical Transport Driver

: A Non-Emergency Medical Transport (NEMT) driver plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and comfortable transportation of patients who do not require emergency medical attention. NEMT drivers assist individuals who have medical conditions, disabilities, or limited mobility in getting to and from medical appointments, treatment centers, rehabilitation facilities, and other healthcare-related destinations. They provide a reliable and compassionate service to ensure that patients receive the care they need without the stress of transportation challenges.

Responsibilities:

Patient Transportation: Safely and securely transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, and other healthcare facilities.

Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the NEMT vehicle is clean, well-maintained, and mechanically sound at all times. Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or repair needs.

Patient Comfort and Safety: Assist patients with entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey. Properly secure wheelchairs, stretchers, and other mobility devices as needed.

Communication: Maintain effective communication with patients, healthcare facility staff, and dispatchers to coordinate transportation schedules and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.

Navigation: Utilize navigation tools and apps to plan routes and find the most efficient way to reach destinations while considering traffic and weather conditions.

Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork, including trip logs, mileage records, and patient information forms. Ensure accurate records are maintained for billing and reporting purposes.

Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, respectful, and attentive to patients' needs. Handle patient inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.

Compliance: Adhere to all transportation regulations, safety protocols, and local traffic laws. Maintain a clean driving record and follow all company policies and procedures.

Emergency Preparedness: Be knowledgeable about basic first aid and emergency response procedures in case of unexpected situations during transportation.

Patient Confidentiality: Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality by handling sensitive medical information with the utmost discretion and following HIPAA guidelines.

Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and respect towards patients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring their comfort and well-being during transportation.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Clean background check Valid driver's license with a 5 years clean driving record. Experience in patient care, customer service, or transportation services is a plus. Good communication skills and the ability to interact compassionately with patients. Strong navigation skills and familiarity with GPS devices and mapping applications. Physical capability to assist patients with mobility devices and enter/exit the vehicle. Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
