The role you\xe2\x80\x99ll contribute:
Delivers basic patient care to include activities of daily living, mobility using Safe Patient Handling techniques and vital signs. Works in collaboration with a designated Registered Nurse to enhance basic nursing skills to include, but not limited to, basic wound care and dressing changes, IV insertion and removal, urinary catheter management, blood glucose management, ng insertion and management in accordance with Division of Nursing standards. This experience provides exposure to wholistic nursing practice applying new knowledge and expanding opportuntiies for career advancement.
The value you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring to the team:
Knowledge of and ability to perform point of care testing; e.g. blood glucose testing
Knowledge of normal parameters for vital signs for age specific population
Knowledge of and ability to obtain vital signs and oxygen saturation correctly
Knowledge of and ability to remove peripheral IV catheters.
Knowledge of and ability to insert, maintain and remove foley, JP\xe2\x80\x99s and
Knowledge of and ability to assist with ostomy care, trach care and central line dressing care/changes
Working knowledge of and ability to use computer and perform documentation
Ability and willingness to adapt to various practice areas when needed
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you\xe2\x80\x99ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
High School education or equivalent
Currently enrolled in (or graduated from) an accredited nursing program; ADN or BSN, with validation of successful completion of nursing fundamentals skills.Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
