This position is ECB status \xe2\x80\x93 requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.

Job Summary: Provides patient care to an assigned group of patients, either in the radiology holding area or during patient transport, utilizing basic skills and knowledge. Observes patient\'s condition, activities, and needs and report\'s any changes to the patient\'s condition. Performs procedural tasks such as transporting and special assignments

Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of the Saint Francis Hospital Nurse Technician Training Program or completion of a patient care course/program such as Home Health Aide (HHA), Advanced Unlicensed Assistant (AUA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or completed at least one semester of nursing school.

Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: CPR Certification required within 30 days of hire.

Work Experience: 0 - 6 months related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detail oriented as required in the documentation of numerical data.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Provides patient care to an assigned group of patients, either in the radiology holding area or during patient transport, utilizing basic skills and knowledge. Observes patient\'s condition, activities, and needs and report\'s any changes to the patient\'s condition. Performs procedural tasks such as transporting and special assignments Courteously greets patients/customers and identifies self to each patient. Verifies that the stretcher or bed is in lowest position with all rails up & wheels locked, & alarm at patient\'s side. Equipment plugged in, if applicable O2 is connected to wall & at appropriate sitting, prevents patient from leaving the holding area without portable O2. Offers warm blanket & adjustments to the head of the stretcher & assistance to the restroom. Utilizes hospital/department communications, telephone, computer, and paging appropriately. Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers and hospital personnel. Highly motivated in providing excellent customer service to all customers. Supports unit/hospital goals through P.I. and educational activities. Modifies behavior or performance to comply with care standards and unit requirement. Accurately completes variance reports. Attends mandatory in-services and unit education standard. Performs environmental activities to maintain a clean and orderly patient holding area. Dirty laundry emptied, blanket warmer and supplies restocked at the need of each shift. Cleans transport equipment as required, including changing linens and reports any equipment malfunctions to the manager. Demonstrates specialty skills and knowledge appropriate to the surgical arena. Performs tasks and procedures as directed by the supervisor or Registered Nurse. Refills O2 containers and linen warmers. Checks specialty carts and equipment as assigned. Transport patients to and from designated areas as required. Transports equipment, supplies, and other materials while following all safety procedures.

Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.

Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
