Nutrition Services Aide

Here is your opportunity to channel the full extent of your knowledge, skills, ambition, and experience on a daily basis. Inspire our patients to progress each day as you:

\xc2\xb7 Maintains proper temperature for both hot and cold foods.

\xc2\xb7 Interprets written recipes and follows written and/or verbal orders, requests, and instructions.

\xc2\xb7 Replenishes condiments and other items as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Breaks down carts and removes scraps from patient trays.

\xc2\xb7 Inventories and stocks refrigerator and freezers, as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Restocks necessary food and beverage items, paper products and serving utensils.

\xc2\xb7 Assembles/delivers late patient trays, supplements, nourishments and special requests as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Assists cook as needed.

\xc2\xb7 Works on Tray line.

\xc2\xb7 Portions, weighs, and garnishes food according to menus and specific diet instructions.

\xc2\xb7 Monitors and records temperatures, as necessary.

\xc2\xb7 Assembles patient trays to meet time tables.

\xc2\xb7 Assists patients in completing menus.

\xc2\xb7 Cleans and sanitizes all assigned areas.

\xc2\xb7 Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments.

\xc2\xb7 Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.

\xc2\xb7 Completes mandatory training and courses required by completion date.

\xc2\xb7 Reports questionable situations, concerns, complaints, or harassment immediately.

Credentials:

\xc2\xb7 Food handlers permit (if required by state or county regulations).

Minimum Qualifications:
\xc2\xb7 Training in food preparation for therapeutic diets, recent institutional cooking experience and special function cooking experience desirable.

\xc2\xb7 Knowledge of food safety guidelines preferred.

Machines, Equipment Used:
\xc2\xb7 General office equipment such as computer/laptop, telephone, copy/fax machine, calculator, scanner, etc.

\xc2\xb7 Microsoft Office software, to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.

\xc2\xb7 General office equipment, mixer, ovens, steamer, microwave, toaster, blender, steam tables, fryer, food processor, scales,

dish washer.

Physical Requirements:
\xc2\xb7 Visual acuity, speech recognition, speech clarity.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds including medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements. \xc2\xb7 Ability to withstand prolonged standing and walking.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to reach, stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch are required for patient care functions and in setting up and monitoring

equipment.

Skills and Abilities:

\xc2\xb7 Oral communication, written communication, fluency in English, active listening.

\xc2\xb7 Information ordering, deductive reasoning, social perceptiveness, time management, critical thinking.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.

Environmental Conditions:

\xc2\xb7 Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment. Occasional outdoor exposure.

\xc2\xb7 Exposure or potential exposure to blood and body fluids may be required.

\xc2\xb7 Handicapped accessible.

\xc2\xb7 May work under stressful circumstances at times.

Proficiency or Productivity Standards:

\xc2\xb7 Has regular, reliable, and predictable attendance and punctuality.

\xc2\xb7 Adheres to dress code including wearing ID badge.

\xc2\xb7 Adheres to Standards of Business Conduct.

\xc2\xb7 May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.

\xc2\xb7 May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.

\xc2\xb7 Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e., before, during or after a disaster.

\xc2\xb7 May be required to stay after workday to assist after a disaster situation until relief arrives.

\xc2\xb7 May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
