DescriptionOffice Assistant 3 - OA3 (Callout Coordinator)Washington Corrections Center for Women (WCCW)Full Time/PermanentThe Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Office Assistant 3 at Washington Corrections Center for Women.Washington Corrections Center for Women is a 62.6-acre facility located approximately two miles from Gig Harbor. The site includes living units, administration buildings, a health clinic, education buildings, a gymnasium, a chapel, industries buildings, food service buildings, and support facilities.Whether the work is inside a prison, in community corrections, or in an administrative office, the Washington State Department of Corrections professional staff experience a high degree of personal satisfaction knowing they are creating environments in which all incarcerated individuals can learn to make choices that contribute to a safer society.DutiesIn this customer-service-based role, the callout coordinator and switchboard operator is central to the facility\'s communication and coordination efforts. Successful candidates will manage a multi-line phone system, answer inquiries with professionalism, and perform archiving tasked essential for record-keeping and facility operations. Additionally, they will handle correspondence with incarcerated individuals and assist with public and internal inquiries daily, requiring excellent communication skills and attention to detail.Typical duties of an Office Assistant 3 include but are not limited to:

  • Receive and process callout requests for facility programming
  • Ensure that the daily callout is completed accurately and timely
  • Review and address documents received through callout mailbox, emails, kites, and kiosk
  • Add/Delete security groups and grant security level access to the callout system
  • Ensure high quality customer service
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Promote safety and security; be an active participant; be aware, be alert, act safely and make recommendations
QualificationsRequired:High School Diploma or equivalent.Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • Type 40+ words per minute
  • Basic computer skills in MS Office Programs (Word, excel and outlook)
  • General knowledge of Offender Management Network Information (OMNI)
