Description and FunctionsOpen Until FilledGENERAL DESCRIPTION:The District Attorney\'s Office of Laramie County is seeking highly motivated, organized, and professional applicants for an Office Assistant (Receptionist) position. Under the direction of the Deputy District Attorney, the receptionist provides support for the Office of the District Attorney. This position is a combination of answering and directing telephone calls, greeting the public, handling daily incoming and outgoing mail; processing all incoming pleadings, orders, motions, correspondence, and court documents; assisting other support staff as necessary; and performing other duties as assigned. The Office of the District Attorney is fast-paced, and the receptionist is a key part of the daily operations.The State of Wyoming\'s total compensation package is excellent and includes:

  • Provide receptionist support, including greeting the public.
  • Open, date stamp, sort, log, and distribute daily incoming mail.
  • Log documents into eProsecutor.
  • Retrieve and file court documents at circuit and/or district courts
  • Provide customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsPREFERENCES:High school diploma, plus one year of professional office experience. Additional preference will be given to those applicants with legal experience.KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of office procedures, standards, and practices.
  • Knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email programs.
  • Skills in oral and written communication.
  • Skills in operation of a multi-line telephone, data entry, computer, and related office equipment.
  • Skills in and ability to effectively work and communicate with a wide variety of people, including other legal staff, victims, and witnesses of crimes, especially in difficult situations or times of high stress.
  • Ability to work independently.
