The Collaborative Studies Coordinating Center (CSCC) in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) is seeking applications for a fixed-term faculty position. These faculty appointments will be in the Department of Biostatistics in UNC\'s Gillings School of Global Public Health. The track (research, clinical, or practice) and rank will depend on qualifications and research focus of the applicant. A doctoral degree in biostatistics or equivalent is required. The focus of these searches is on areas of biostatistics related to functional data analysis, Bayesian methods for complex innovative trial design, pragmatic trial design, causal inference, precision medicine, analysis of big data and/or complex data, including but not limited to methods for electronic health record data, data linkage and integration, machine learning, medical imaging, among other areas.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Doctorate in Biostatistics or related field.
Applicants should have broad research interests, with a strong publications record, and experience working at a coordinating center, academic research organization, clinical research organization or equivalent. Applicants should have the potential to direct PhD-level research, and the ability to engage in collaborative research with other faculty members at the University.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with: experience in a research network coordinating center; senior management level experience including supervision, resource allocation, project and protocol management, and organizational planning in a clinical research organization; strong hands-on background in biostatistics and data management in a clinical research setting; clinical trials experience with industry; and/or working knowledge of GCP, Good Clinical Data Management Practices, and ICH guidelines, regulatory submission requirements, and CDISC standards.
