This position ensures the proper control environment is in place to drive a consistent and effective operational approach across all RIS Operations supported businesses (US Pensions, Structured Settlements, Income Annuities) and partners closely with US Risk, GTO Risk, Audit and Compliance to maintain consistent reporting standards and approach to mitigate risk.Key Responsibilities\xc2\xb7 Work with the RIS Operations and Service to ensure the implementation or enhancement of controls within their areas and mitigate applicable risks.\xc2\xb7 Work with Internal/External Audit partners and relevant business partners to remediate audit identified issues. Ensure issue identification, root cause analysis and resolution.\xc2\xb7 Identifies any trends and work with the leadership team to analyze and apply corrective action.\xc2\xb7 Provide control improvement and best practice recommendations to RIS Service and Operations.\xc2\xb7 Act as audit, compliance and risk liaison to coordinate requests from internal and external audit and compliance reviews.\xc2\xb7 Track and manage audit/review deliverables, supporting documentation requests, walkthroughs and meetings.\xc2\xb7 Assist with the review of policies, procedures, process flows, supporting documentations.\xc2\xb7 Facilitates appropriate coordination, oversight and cascading of certain policy or regulatory considerations and execution within RIS Operations.\xc2\xb7 Appropriately assess risk when business/operational decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding MetLife, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.\xc2\xb7 Assist with special projects and reviews.Qualification and Competencies\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of the financial services/retirement/insurance industry, RIS operational transactions and processes supported (preferred, not required)\xc2\xb7 Familiarity with execution of first line of defense review/ or operational risk testing and risk management principles\xc2\xb7 Knowledge in testing, evaluating the adequacy of internal controls design and operating effectiveness\xc2\xb7 Able to understand regulations and requirements; strong understanding of risks and controls\xc2\xb7 Willingness to adapt and respond appropriately to demands, priorities and challenges\xc2\xb7 Strong attention to detail, analysis and problem resolving skills\xc2\xb7 Independent and able to lead projects, tasks, etc\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; work independently; use good judgement\xc2\xb7 Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerpointThe salary range for applicants for this position is 75,000 - 83,000.Benefits We OfferOur U.S. benefits address holistic well-being with programs for physical and mental health, financial wellness, and support for families.
