This job is an extension of the orthopedic surgeon and assists in the care of sick and disabled persons. Responsible for being familiar with the clinical operations of a practice, specifically, casting application and removal. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental procedures and is able to perform certain basic nursing functions.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.

Job Duties

• Responsible for providing technical support services and functions under the supervision of the RN.
• Assists with delivery of patient care by functioning as an effective member of the team.
• Maintains a clean, safe, environment in patient care areas.
• Provides specialized care and services to patients/customers in specific relation to their age and developmental stage.
• Ensures the flow and retrieval of information is timely and accurate.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Other related duties as required.
