DESCRIPTION OF WORK
A Parole Agent 1 is trainee level work in the supervision of parolees (Field Operations) or professional parole counseling of offenders preparing for release from an institution (State Correctional Institution).
Institutional Parole Agents work within correctional facilities to prepare offenders for parole hearings. In addition to coordinating and monitoring the status of an offender\'s completion of mandated programs, they conduct critical preliminary interviews to determine their readiness for release and re-entry into the community.
Successful completion of the 12-month training/probationary period will result in a promotion to Parole Agent 2 with an increase in salary!
