Description
The City of Anaheim Community Services Department is seeking to hire Part Time Park Rangers. Under moderate supervision, patrols parks and grounds to promote park safety and to enforce City rules, codes, and policies and promotes positive engagement with park patrons. This is a part-time year round position of approximately 20-30 hours per week; however, no minimum number of hours is guaranteed. Shifts will be second shift (4:00 pm-12:00 am) and weekends. 30 hours of availability is required, which shall include availability of weekday (Mon-Fri) second shifts and weekend shifts. All Rangers must be available to work at least one (1) weekend shift (Sat-Sun) and two (2) weekday second shifts (Mon-Fri). Bilingual Spanish speaking applicants are highly desirable.
Park Ranger Program Hours:
Weekday Park Ranger program hours of operation are:
Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 12:00 midnight.
First shift 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and second shift 4:00 pm to 12:00 midnight.
Weekend Park Ranger program hours of operation are:
Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to 12:00 midnight.
First shift 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and second shift 4:00 pm to 12:00 midnight.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
Park Ranger is the first level classification in the Park Ranger/Senior Park Ranger series. Incumbents at this level independently patrol community parks, perform the more routine compliance tasks, and coordinate with higher-level staff when new or unusual situations arise.
