AccountabilitiesRemote Part-Time Readers for the Colgate Office of Admission will provide critical support in
the holistic assessment of Early and Regular Decision first-year applicants to the University.
They will be asked to conduct a number of application-review tasks, which will primarily
include computing and gathering quantitative data on applicants as well as conducting a holistic
applicant review alongside a reading partner. Thorough training on all elements of Colgate\'s
application review process will be conducted upon hire. Remote Part-Time Readers must be
comfortable evaluating applicants in accordance with Colgate\'s mission as outlined in the Third-
Century Plan and the standards of a highly selective liberal arts institution. In order to ensure
efficient and high quality application review, the ability to work accurately at a fast pace and to
provide comprehensive and relevant summary comments is essential.RequirementsProfessional Experience/ Qualifications

  • As remote employees, candidates must have their own computer and a stable internet connection.
  • A Bachelor\'s degree is required, along with at least one year of experience with application review.
  • Competitive candidates will have strong math skills in addition to organizational and time management skills.
  • Collaborative work experience and the ability to work with confidential information are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Appreciation of the liberal arts philosophy and/or previous volunteer or employment experience in the liberal arts will be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of non-U.S. educational systems and curriculums with experience reviewing international credentials is recommended.
EducationA minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree is required.
