Job Description

Scottsdale Eye Surgery Center is seeking assistive personnel to join our team! Under the supervision of a registered nurse, assistive personnel are responsible for patient care and safety pre-operatively and post-operatively, as well as turnover of operating rooms in between cases, cleaning of work areas, and assisting with stocking and maintaining inventory.

This position is part-time on a Wednesday/Friday schedule, from approximately 6:00am-6:30pm each day.



Responsibilities



Assist with assembling all necessary equipment and supplies for pre-op and post-op patient care, "turn-over" (cleaning) of the OR between cases, restocking of room supplies, care and processing of reusable surgical supplies, and the cleaning of work areas. Assist the purchasing and nursing teams with maintaining supplies throughout the surgery center, ordering lenses, and stocking bays, rooms, and other facility spaces. Assist in obtaining health history information from patients pre-operatively, and/or through follow-up phone calls. Assist with the flow of scheduled patients as directed by summoning the next patient on the list from the waiting room, directing him/her to the restroom and giving instructions about preparing for surgery, applying monitoring equipment, and obtaining vital signs as the need arises. Work cooperatively and maintains communication with the operating room team, doctors, nurses, patient representatives, and administrative staff.

Qualifications



CNA/LNA/MA/PCT license is highly preferred. At least one year medical experience preferred. Current BLS or recertification within first month of employment. Physical requirements - must be able to move throughout the surgical center throughout a twelve-hour working day. This role will require occasional lifting, bending, pulling/pushing items, and repetitive motions. Ability to perform during stress and emergency situations, and to maintain interpersonal relationships. Possesses alertness and adaptability to changing situations. Strong problem solving, communication, and critical thinking skills, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

We would love to have



Some experience in a surgical center, outpatient setting, or ophthalmologist clinic. Bilingual in Spanish.

Pay will be commensurate with experience.
