Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Safety Attendant (PSA) participates in high-quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high risk patients. In collaboration with the patient care team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls and accidental or intentional self-harm. The PSA may also assist with basic activities of daily living. If that is you, come be a part of what makes us great and apply today!

What you will do in this role:

• Duties include transportation of patients from patient room to appropriate area by wheelchair, stretcher or bed; provides specialty beds as needed throughout the facility; transports laboratory specimens for pre-admit testing; transports crash carts to the pharmacy for restocking; assists pharmacy in delivering medication during tube system downtime; provides courier/mailroom support as needed; and exchange empty O2 tanks throughout the facility with full tanks on a daily basis
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to patients served
• Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over life span and possesses ability to collect data reflective of patient status and report to registered nurse.
• Is responsible for timely delivery and communication of delivery of remote telemetry boxes to clinical staff and monitor technicians. As described in the policy

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from high school or high school equivalent program
• Previous orderly or transporter experience preferred. Will consider training candidate
• Current Basic Life Support required
