Peer Support Specialists - Per Diem

Pay Range: $17.00 - $19.00 plus shift differentials

Riverbend Community Mental Health, Inc., one of the largest providers of community-based behavioral health services in New Hampshire, is seeking a person with lived experience with mental illness to work in conjunction with our Mobile Crisis Team, providing office and community-based interventions for people experiencing a mental health crisis. These are per diem positions with varied schedules.

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will be working with clinicians in conducting initial assessments and coordinating follow-up care, and providing specific types of recovery-oriented support to individuals in crisis and their families. If you have personal, lived experience with mental illness, can work independently and as part of a team, and have sensitivity to people of diverse backgrounds and cultures, this is a great opportunity to apply all that you have learned to enhance your own independence while helping others.

Responsibilities

• Help clients and families understand the systems of care available to them in the community
• Provide clients with support and advocacy in accessing the care they need
• Work independently and as part of a professional clinical team
• Partner with a range of treatment providers and agencies

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, relevant degree preferred.
• Lived experience with mental illness, and the ability to meet the essential requirements of the job is required.
• Ability to sensitively work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures is required.
• A valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license, personal vehicle, and auto insurance is required.
