Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Assistant to provide support and assistance to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. As a Personal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals with their daily living activities and promoting their overall well-being. Duties:
- Assist individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities in their activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Provide transportation and drive individuals to appointments, outings, and activities
- Support individuals in maintaining a clean and organized home environment
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Prepare meals according to dietary needs and preferences
- Assist with medication reminders and administration, as needed
- Promote resident rights and advocate for individuals\' needs and preferences
- Provide childcare services, if required Skills:
- Experience working with people with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of ADLs and ability to assist individuals with personal care tasks
- Valid driver\'s license and ability to drive individuals to various locations
- Familiarity with home care systems and procedures
- Proficient in behavior management techniques
- First aid certification is preferred
- Ability to prepare nutritious meals
- Understanding of resident rights and ability to uphold them
