POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Clinical Consulting serves as a clinical strategy leader and trusted advisor for Prime Therapeutics within the clinical account management function of the Strategic Markets Sales & Account Management Division. This role requires combining a strong clinical background, knowledge of industry trends, and drug pipeline insights with business acumen and financial analytical skills to identify and execute upon strategic opportunities that align with Prime\xe2\x80\x99s clinical goals and objectives. Additional responsibilities include clinical team leadership and development, acting as the primary point of contact for Prime\xe2\x80\x99s clinical and formulary-related initiatives, completing financial/rebate impact assessments to evaluate utilization management strategies, overseeing ongoing formulary maintenance and new formulary implementations, and reviewing prospects for clinical program adoption.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support Prime with formulary and utilization management strategies to service all current and future client needs.
Lead Clinical Consulting team functions, including maintaining formulary status changes for all actively maintained formularies, assessing utilization management policy updates, and consulting on anticipated clinical and financial impacts of strategies under consideration by the client.
Lead Centralized Business Analyst Support (CBAS) team functions to oversee formulary implementation, maintenance, and coding, which also includes coordination with the client for all implementation-related inputs.
Develop, prepare, and present clinical business strategies (formulary, utilization and/or health management strategy, support for client P&T and Business Committee meetings)
Act in concert with Prime Account Management team to service all needs of the client.
Provide clinical oversight and project management to the business division, developing tools and trainings for carrying out work plan goals, including continuous process improvement activities.
Lead, develop, and coach clinicians and analysts to continuously expand, improve, and gain efficiency in the support of our client.
Represent the business division as a point of contact for various corporate clinical initiatives, including participation in client and trade meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy
Current U.S. pharmacist license
9 - 11 years general pharmacy experience (4+ managed care or clinical account management), 12+ years relevant work experience
Must have proven leadership skills, team-orientation, and a strategic management style, with strong commitment to client service and business division goals.
Ability to develop/mentor people.
Demonstrated successful and resolution-focused interaction with Sales, Account Management, Pharma Trade Relations and Product Management team.
Excellent presentation and communication skills required.
Demonstrated experience handling multiple tasks and ability to prioritize (including under stressful situations)
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical, trend and formulary management programs at level of client, member, and PBM industry
Ability to travel.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications required.
Ability to evaluate current state and analyze possible solutions in business workflow.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and learn quickly, solve problems and make decisions with minimal assistance or direction from leader when interfacing with clients and addressing concerns.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
