• The Avera Health Plans Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will work healthcare professionals and members to ensure that the medications prescribed to members, with complex disease states, contribute to the best possible health outcomes.
• The Avera Health Plans Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will have frequent and regular interactions with healthcare professionals, contributing to better coordination of care.
• The Avera Health Plans Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will be part of the Medication Therapy Management Program (MTMP), a comprehensive health management strategy to provide exceptional service and improve the value of the pharmacy benefit our members receive.
• This strategy includes interactive communication (not limited to telephonic) with members to reduce medication-related problems while maximizing cost-effectiveness and member outcomes.

• Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) with residency or 5 years of experience (broad scope preferred) in hospital or managed care setting with direct patient interaction preferred.
• Experience in clinical pharmacy or medication therapy management desirable.
• Strong public relations and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to influence and manage changes both internally and externally, especially with prescribers.
• Ability to develop and create reports, interpret data, conduct root cause analyses, determine and implement a course of action.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Familiarity with data extraction tools is desirable.
• Deadlines may require work outside of normal office hours.

• Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of South Dakota and other states as required.

• Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm; 80 hours every 2 weeks
